Community FAQS

1. Is CBD legal in Switzerland?

Yes. CBD (cannabidiol) products are legal in Switzerland if they contain less than 1% THC.

2. Do I need a prescription to buy CBD?

No. CBD is not subject to a prescription: it can be purchased freely in specialized shops, tobacconists, or online, as long as it respects the legal limits.

3. How is cannabis used for therapeutic purposes?

It can be prescribed in various forms: oil, capsules, extracts, dried flowers for vaporization, or other preparations. It is used as an adjunct for conditions such as chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, chemotherapy-induced nausea, or muscle spasms. For medical use of CBD, it is recommended to consult your doctor.

4. Is recreational cannabis with THC allowed?

Cannabis with THC in Switzerland &1% are not legally available for recreational use. However, since 2022, pilot projects have been underway in some cities (such as Zurich and Basel) that allow a limited number of adults to purchase recreational cannabis in supervised settings.

5. Is cannabis addictive?

Habitual cannabis use, especially at high doses or with strains high in THC, can in some cases lead to a form of psychological dependence. Physical dependence, however, is generally less pronounced than with substances like alcohol or nicotine.
