Vaporizer brands compared

The vaporizer brands we sell, compared: Storz & Bickel and Wolkenkraft from Germany, DaVinci and PAX from the United States. For each brand you will find its headquarters, a short history, product philosophy, heating method, materials, charging and the prices of the models in our shop, from CHF 124 to CHF 579, plus a summary table and the warranties stated by the manufacturers.

Storz & Bickel: vaporizers from Tuttlingen

Storz & Bickel is headquartered in Tuttlingen, Baden-Württemberg (Germany). Development of the first Volcano began in 1996, the company was established in 2002, and in 2018 it was acquired by the Canadian group Canopy Growth. About 170 people work in Tuttlingen and most suppliers are German. The brand's philosophy goes back to the Volcano: hot air from a robust device, now combined with conduction in a heating system patented by the manufacturer.

  • Volcano MEDIC 2 (CHF 579): desktop vaporizer with a built-in pump that fills a balloon, or used with a tube. It combines convection and conduction with a double helix heat exchanger and is ready in about 40 seconds.
  • Mighty+ MEDIC (CHF 409): portable, with combined convection and conduction heating, temperature adjustable between 40 and 210 °C, ready in about one minute. It charges via USB-C; with a compatible fast charger it reaches about 80% in 40 minutes.
  • Venty (CHF 352): portable, with the same combined principle, temperature between 40 and 210 °C plus Booster and Superbooster functions (+15 °C), ready in about 20 seconds. Charges via USB-C.

DaVinci: conduction and a zirconia vapour path

DaVinci is a US brand based in Las Vegas, Nevada, founded in 2011. Since 2024 it has been part of Synergy Innovation, a group of accessory brands. DaVinci's philosophy centres on the vapour path: on the two models we sell it is made of zirconia ceramic, the body is aluminium, the temperature can be set degree by degree up to 221 °C and the battery is removable.

  • DaVinci IQ3 (CHF 225): conduction heating, manual temperature or four Smart Paths that raise it gradually during the session. The Cool-Core system cools the vapour. Removable 21700 battery, charging via USB-C. Read more: DaVinci IQ3, a conduction vaporizer.
  • DaVinci IQC (CHF 189): conduction, airtight vapour path in zirconia and glass, temperature up to 221 °C, removable 18650 battery, charging via USB-C.

PAX: compact design from San Francisco

PAX Labs was founded in 2007 in San Francisco under the name Ploom and has been an independent company since 2017. The PAX philosophy is ease of use in a pocket format: few controls, preset temperature modes instead of a degree scale, and an oven and vapour path in stainless steel. Both models heat by conduction and charge on a magnetic charger.

  • PAX Plus Sage (CHF 219): four modes (Stealth, Efficiency, Flavor and Boost) between about 182 and 216 °C. With the dedicated insert it also takes resins and extracts.
  • PAX Mini (CHF 124): the smallest PAX vaporizer, for dry herbs only, made to fit in a pocket.

Wolkenkraft: convection in a pocket format

Wolkenkraft is a German maker of portable vaporizers. The brand sums up its philosophy as “True Convection”: the material does not touch the heating element and only hot air passes through it.

  • Wolkenkraft FX Mini (CHF 129): the heating element sits below the chamber and hot air enters through small holes. The temperature is stepless between 160 and 221 °C, with an OLED display, and the device is ready in under 30 seconds. With the stainless steel capsule, sold separately, it also takes concentrates. It charges with the supplied USB cable.
